Primary care

A doctor is a highly trained medical professional who diagnoses, treats, and prevents illnesses, injuries, and diseases in patients. They typically hold a medical degree (such as an M.D. or D.O.) and undergo extensive training in medical school and residency programs. Doctors often specialize in specific areas of medicine, such as internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, psychiatry, or obstetrics and gynecology, among many others. They may work in hospitals, clinics, private practices, or research institutions. In addition to clinical work, doctors may also conduct medical research, teach medical students and residents, or work in healthcare administration.
